After two years of reorganisation we are now ready to face the New Year with renewed energy and fresh ideas. In the UK we have had a change over of our management committee members and the details of the new members can be seen on the website which has kindly been revamped by Mike Turner. We thank Virinia Harrison and Tony Frost for their support and hard work since the Asswin Project was started and welcome Sarah, Ann, and Malcolm (all of the Noble family) who have replaced them and have already made a great impact.
Here in India the work is extremely time consuming and, although we still visit donkeys at work sites and at their owners' camps, we now have to focus more on the work at the shelter which was provided by the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon some 18 months ago. It was found that there was a need for a shelter where seriously injured and sick donkeys could be cared for on a daily basis by a team of employees in a clean environment rather than at the sites and camps especially as it has not been guaranteed that daily visits
to attend to the needy donkeys could be made
