.Since  The Asswin Project moved into the shelter provided by the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon almost 3 years ago, the surrounding rural area has become subjected to urbanisation with construction sites
going on everywhere. The result is that donkeys are being used at the sites and there are more and more cases  of sickness and injuries to them. Over the pas t 3 weeks 4 donkeys have had to be admitted to the shelter for medical care. One had  severe colic caused by a blockage in the rectum. Luckily the team managed  to remove the blockage which was as big as tennis ball and made up of polythene, string and bits of wood. The donkey was relieved of its pain and its life was saved

The second case was a 5 months old female donkey which had been attacked by feral dogs and had suffered nasty wounds at the base of her ears and to tops of her legs. The team duly treated  and dressed the wounds and administered necessary antibiotics..
